How is Frontline applied?
Because Frontline Top Spot is an insect poison, it is wise to wear plastic gloves while handling. Frontline Top Spot is a "topical" medical treatment, meaning it is applied externally to the pet.
Hold liquid applicator upright - so you don't spill the liquid - while you remove the plastic tab to reveal the foil. Snap applicator tip away from your face and body to puncture the seal. Make sure none of the insecticide comes into contact with your eyes, mouth, skin or clothes.
Part the hair on the back of your pet’s neck, between the shoulder blades. Place the applicator tip on the pet's skin, past the hair follicles. Squeeze-and-drag the liquid contents directly onto the skin of your animal, until all the liquid in the individual packet has been applied. Use only one applicator per treatment.
Do not apply to broken or damaged skin. Do not massage or rub the liquid into the skin.
How does the liquid insecticide spread?
Frontline's insect poison spreads via the translocation process through the oil glands of the pet's skin. It provides protection for an entire month.
How often should I apply Frontline Top Spot?
Apply once a month.
What should I expect to see after application?
The application area may appear oily, allow it to dry before touching. Although Frontline is waterproof, you should keep your pet away from external contact with water (bathing or swimming) for 24 hours.
Fleas should get hyperexcited after Frontline application; thus, you might see more of them moving around. Don't worry, this is natural. Eventually, the fleas will be paralyzed and die.
